Athletics Norfolk has delegated the coordination of road races licensed by UKA and ARC in the county of Norfolk to the Athletics Norfolk Road Running Committee (ANRRC).

The ANRRC comprises representatives of the various running and athletic clubs currently affiliated to Athletics Norfolk.

The aims of the ANRRC include:

  • coordinating & maintaining the annual Athletics Norfolk Road Race Fixture List - the latest version of the 2020 list is here
  • reviewing & learning from technical reports from recent road races staged by affiliated clubs in the county
  • sharing matters of good practice and joint interest
  • coordinating & managing the Sportlink Running & Fitness Grand Prix Series
  • overseeing the Norfolk County Championship races at five distances - 5k, 10k, 10 miles, half marathon and marathon
  • awarding the annual Norfolk Road Runner of the Year trophies
  • acting as a "godparent" to the Round Norfolk Relay - a 198 mile relay race of 17 stages which takes place each September
  • coordinating the use of its own LED race clock and finish gantry

We meet three times a year; our dates for 2020 are 12 February (AGM), 3 June and 7 October. Please click here to view the minutes of our last few meetings.

At the June meeting each year, the process of compiling the Athletics Norfolk Road Race Fixture List for the following year begins. This gives affiliated clubs four months to discuss and hopefully resolve any unhelpful fixture clashes before the list is finalised at the subsequent October meeting.

The four events to be designated as Norfolk County Championship races (5k, 10k, 10 miles and half marathon) and the events to be included in the Grand Prix Series for the forthcoming year are all decided at the October meeting. The Norfolk County Marathon Championship for 2020 is a virtual event with validated performances anywhere in the world in the period from 1 November 2019 to 30 September 2020 being eligible.

The latest version of the Athletics Norfolk Road Race Fixture List for 2020 is here - it includes road races organised by clubs affiliated to Athletics Norfolk and one of two other fixtures at our discretion.

The ANRRC's LED race clock - and gantry if required - may be hired by organisations not affiliated to Athletics Norfolk, subject to availability. The hire fee is £50 per event - please click here for further details.
