Track & Field Leagues
Several Athletics Norfolk member clubs enter teams into regional and national track and field leagues, giving athletes regular competitive opportunities throughout the summer season. These leagues bring together clubs from across the region and provide structured fixtures for athletes of all ages and abilities. Norfolk clubs currently take part in leagues such as the:
East Anglian League — a long‑established league offering age‑group competition across the region
Eastern Young Athletes League — focused on junior athletes, providing a pathway into higher‑level competition
Southern Athletics League — a senior league offering competitive fixtures against clubs from across the south of England
These leagues offer athletes the chance to compete as part of a club team, score points, and contribute to overall league standings. They also provide valuable experience across a range of events in a supportive, team‑based environment. For details on how to get involved, athletes should contact their club directly, as each club manages its own team selection, fixtures, and league entries.
Team Competitions
Athletics Norfolk coordinates county team entries for major representative track and field competitions, including the South of England Inter‑Counties and the Hibbard Trophy. These events bring together leading athletes from across the region to compete at a higher level and represent Norfolk in team‑based competition.
Norfolk Schools Athletics Championships
Schools athletes can enter events through their school or club, with competitions usually taking place annually in June. In addition to the main county schools championships, there is also a Regional Schools Combined Events competition held each year, offering further opportunities for young athletes to compete across multiple disciplines.
